MINNEAPOLIS -- The Augsburg College men's basketball team overcame a five-point halftime deficit to claim an exciting 87-86 nonconference victory over Buena Vista University on Wednesday evening at Si Melby Hall.

HOW IT HAPPENED• Despite being out-shot, Augsburg capitalized on an incredible 30-of-34 night at the free-throw line, which proved to be the difference in the game as Augsburg claimed the one-point victory.
• Augsburg finished with five players in double figures, led by C
ollin Olmscheid (SO, Buffalo, Minn.), who posted a season-best 20 points, which included 4-of-7 from 3-point range, while adding nine rebounds and a pair of steals.• Brett Rasmussen (JR, Lakeville, Minn./Lakeville North HS) also posted a season-best scoring effort, putting up 16 points, which included 7-of-8 from the free-throw line.
• Richie Perea (JR, Colorado Springs, Colo./Wasson HS) had a standout night for the Auggies, posting a career-best nine assists and 13 points.• Ryan Gilmer (SR, Bloomington, Minn./Jefferson HS) and Harry Sonie (SO, Burnsville, Minn./Apple Valley HS) finished with 11 and 10 points respectively.• For the game, Augsburg shot 41.4 percent (24-of-58) from the floor, while BVU connected on 46.3 percent (31-of-67) of its field-goal attempts.
• Augsburg claimed a 41-37 advantage on the boards.
FOR THE FOES• The Beavers finished with four players in double figures, led by Sean Morgan, who posted 20 points on 9-of-11 shooting from the floor.
• Nick Clark finished with the only double-double of the night, posting 18 points and 10 rebounds.
