Zangel leads Auggies at Puerto Rico Classic

BAYAMON, Puerto Rico -- The Augsburg College men's basketball team posted a convincing 65-42 victory over Bard College (N.Y.) in the Puerto Rico Classic on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• The Auggies led for all but two possessions in the contest -- including leading by as many as 27 points in the second half. 14 different Auggies saw action in the contest and eight factored into the scoring.
• The Auggies were led offensively by Joe Zangel (SR, Richfield, Minn./St. Louis Park HS), who scored a game- and season-high 25 points on a 10-of-13 shooting performance from the floor, while adding three rebounds and a pair of assists.
• Collin Olmscheid (SO, Buffalo, Minn./Buffalo HS) also finished in double figures for the Auggies, posting 12 points on 5-of-9 shooting from the floor, while adding six rebounds.

• For the game, Augsburg shot 42.1 percent (24-of-57) from the floor, while Bard was held to 36.6 percent (15-of-41) of their field-goal attempts.
• Augsburg claimed a 38-29 advantage on the boards, and forced 17 turnovers, while only committing eight, which led to a 13-5 advantage on points off turnovers.

FOR THE FOES
• Bard was led offensively by DeVahnte Mosley, who finished 13 points on 5-of-7 shooting.
• Caleb LaRosa led the Raptors on the boards, pulling down six rebounds.
