 Hannah Steinhaus (SO, Waterville, Minn./Waterville-Elysian-Morristown HS) posted her second career double-double, but the Augsburg College women's basketball team fell 64-58 to St. Olaf College on Wednesday night in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference opener for both squads.THE BASICSFINAL SCORE: Augsburg 58, St. Olaf 64

HOW IT HAPPENED• After trailing the entire first half, Augsburg cut the St. Olaf lead to 54-50 with just 3:24 to play, but the Auggies weren't able to get any closer as the Oles made 8-of-10 free throws in the final 2:25 to seal the victory.• Steinhaus posted the second double-double of her career with an 11-point, 12 rebound effort to lead the Auggies. She also added a block and a steal on the night.•
Alaina Quaranta (FY, Eau Claire, Wis./North HS) and
Allison McKee (SR, New Brighton, Minn./Mounds View HS (Bemidji State)) also finished in double figures for the Auggies. Quaranta posted 12 points on 4-of-9 shooting, while McKee finished with 10 points, while adding four rebounds and a pair of assists.
• For the game, Augsburg shot a season-low 30.6 percent (22-of-72) from the floor, while St. Olaf connected on 45.7 percent (16-of-35) of its field-goal attempts. The Auggies and Oles finished with 40 rebounds apiece.
• The free-throw line played a large role in the game, with St. Olaf hitting 27-of-41, while Augsburg was only able to convert on 10-of-17.• Augsburg claimed a 34-18 advantage in points in the paint and a 17-8 advantage in points off turnovers.
FOR THE FOES• St. Olaf finished with three players in double figures, led by Betsey Daly and Afton Wolter, who finished with 16 points apiece.
• Daly scored finished the night 14-of-18 from the free-throw line and led the Oles with nine rebounds.
UP NEXT• Augsburg returns to action on Saturday (12/5) when the Auggies host Gustavus Adolphus College in a men's and women's doubleheader. The men tip off at 1 p.m., while the women tip off at 3 p.m.
• St. Olaf will return to action on Saturday (12/5) when the Oles travel to St. Joseph, Minn. to take on Saint Benedict.
