Auggies spread the wealth in 6-2 win over Oles

MINNEAPOLIS -- With six different players scoring goals and 12 different players figuring in the scoring, the Augsburg College pulled away for a 6-2 win over St. Olaf College in a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference men's hockey game on Friday evening at Ed Saugestad Rink.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• After a scoreless first period, Augsburg opened the scoring 6:16 into the second period, when Drew Anderson (SO, Rochester, Minn./Century HS) scored his first goal of the season, assisted by Lukas Gillett (FY, Rosemount, Minn.) and Will Peterson (SO, Eagan, Minn.).
• St. Olaf tied the game with a goal at the 10:06 mark, but Augsburg took the lead back 52 seconds later, when Rory Vesel (JR, Rochester, Minn./Lourdes HS) scored from Luke Dietsch (FY, St. Paul, Minn./Cretin-Derham Hall HS) and Anderson.
• Trevor Stewart (JR, Highlands Ranch, Colo./Eastmont HS) gave the Auggies a 3-1 lead with an unassisted goal at the 13:05 mark.
• Augsburg scored three goals in the third period. Corbin Chapman (JR, Burnsville, Minn.) scored from Mack Ohnsted (SR, Vernon Hills, Ill./Adali E. Stevenson HS) and Nate Flynn (SO, Hastings, Minn.) at the 4:29 mark, Andy Faust (SO, Stillwater, Minn./Hill-Murray HS), a transfer form the U.S. Military Academy, scored his first Auggie goal at the 10:09 mark, assisted by Eric Brenk (FY, Moorhead, Minn.), and Chris Nuth (JR, Trabuco Canyon, Calif./Mission Viejo HS) scored an unassisted goal at the 17:33 mark.
• Augsburg outshot St. Olaf by a 35-28 mark, including a 16-8 advantage in the third period.
• Jordyn Kaufer (SO, Stillwater, Minn.) had 26 saves in goal for the Auggies in the win. 


FOR THE FOES
• David Rath scored an unassisted goal for St. Olaf at the 13:05 mark of the second period.
• Matt Kroska scored from Carter Lukenda and Connor Quinn at the 16:33 mark of the second period.
• Jude Hull had 29 saves in goal for St. Olaf.
