HOW IT HAPPENED• After being tied at the half, and trailing by one at the end of the third quarter, Augsburg was outscored 25-10 in the final frame as the Auggies dropped a hard fought contest to an unbeaten Saint Mary's team.
• Maria Loughlin (SR, Rogers, Minn.) led the Auggies, finishing with 11 points, five rebounds, four assists and three steals.
• Hannah Steinhaus (SO, Waterville, Minn./Waterville-Elysian-Morristown HS) finished with eight points and a pair of rebounds, while Allison McKee (New Brighton, Minn./Mounds View HS) posted seven points, three assists and three rebounds.• For the game, Augsburg shot 32.8 percent (19-of-58) from the floor, while Saint Mary's connected on 36.8 percent (21-of-57) of its field-goal attempts.
• Augsburg claimed a 14-8 advantage in points off turnovers, but the Cardinals were able to outscore the Auggies 30-22 in points in the paint and were able to convert on 17-of-18 from the free throw line while Augsburg was only able to hit 7-of-8.
• Saint Mary's claimed a 44-31 advantage on the boards.FOR THE FOES• Saint Mary's finished with two players in double figures, led by Brandi Blattner, who finished with 14 points and a game-high nine rebounds.
