Augsburg falls to St. Olaf

MINNEAPOLIS -- Collin Olmscheid (FY, Buffalo, Minn./Buffalo HS) and Joe Zangel (JR, St. Louis Park, Minn./St. Louis Park HS) led Augsburg College in a 67-58 loss to St. Olaf College in Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference men's basketball action on Wednesday evening at Si Melby Hall.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Augsburg and No. 15 ranked St. Olaf traded leads six time in the first half. 
• The Oles put together a 10-0 run at the end of the first half, before Richie Perea (SO, Coloado Springs, Colo./Wasson HS) nailed a 3-pointer at the buzzer to cut the St. Olaf lead to 31-27 at the intermission.
• The Auggies kept it close in the second-half but were never quite able to overcome a tough St. Olaf squad as Augsburg fell 67-58.
• Olmscheid posted his first career double-double as an Auggie, finishing with a game- and career-high 14 rebounds, while adding 11 points.
• Zangel led the Auggies offensively finishing with 17 points, while adding nine rebounds, a block and a steal. Zangel is averaging just under 15 points per-game over the Auggies last four contests.

• Parker Hines (SR, Lakeville, Minn./Minnehaha Academy HS) also finished in double figures for the Auggies, posting 13 points, while adding three assists.
• Augsburg was only able to connect on 35.8 percent (19-of-53) from the field, while St. Olaf shot 44.2 percent (23-of-52) from the floor.

• The Auggies claimed a narrow 35-34 advantage on the boards.
• Augsburg was outscored 34-24 in points in the paint and 17-5 in points off turnovers.

FOR THE FOES
• St. Olaf finished with three players in double figures, led by Ben Figini, who finsihed with 17 points and eight rebounds.
