Auggies drop MIAC contest to Bethel 76-56

ARDEN HILLS, Minn. -- Joe Zangel (JR, St. Louis Park, Minn./St. Louis Park HS) led Augsburg College in a 76-56 loss to Bethel University in Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference men's basketball action on Saturday afternoon at Si Melby Hall.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Augsburg scored the first four points of the afternoon, but that proved to be the Auggies largest lead of the day.
• Bethel led 38-27 at the half and cruised on to the 76-56 victory.

• Zangel led the Auggies offensively finishing with a team-high 17 points, while adding seven rebounds. Zangel is averaging just over 15 points per-game over the Auggies last five contests.
• Parker Hines (SR, Lakeville, Minn./Minnehaha Academy HS) also finished in double figures for the Auggies, posting 12 points, while adding a team-high eight rebounds.
• Augsburg shot 38.9 percent (21-of-54) from the field, while Bethel shot 55.8 percent (29-of-52) from the floor.

• The Auggies claimed a narrow 32-31 advantage on the boards.
• Augsburg was outscored 40-28 in points in the paint.

FOR THE FOES
• Bethel finished with four players in double figures, led by Kyle Zimmerman, who finished with 20 points and six rebounds.
