Olmscheid scores 21 but Auggies fall to Pipers

ST. PAUL, Minn. -- Collin Olmscheid (FY, Buffalo, Minn./Buffalo HS) scored 21 points but it wasn't enough as the Augsburg College men's basketball team dropped an 86-75 contest to Hamline University in Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference action on Monday night at Hutton Arena.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• The Auggies struggled to find their offensive rhythm in the first half, only connecting on 25.8 percent of thier shots in the frame.
• Augsburg outscored Hamline 52-43 in the second-half but it wasn't enough to overcome the first half deficit as the Auggies fell 86-75 to the Pipers.
• Olmscheid led all players with 21 points on an 8-of-15 shooting night. He added seven rebounds and an assist.
• Also scoring in double figures were Harry Sonie (FY, Burnsville, Minn./Apple Valley HS) and Joey Sonnenfeld (JR, Maple Grove, Minn./Osseo HS), who finished with 13 points apiece. Sonie finished 9-of-11 from the free throw line and added four rebounds and three assists. Sonnenfeld went 6-for-11 from the floor and added six rebounds.
• Parker Hines (SR, Lakeville, Minn./Minnehaha Academy HS) led all players with eight assists, while adding eight points and five rebounds.

• For the game, Augsburg shot 38.8 percent (26-of-67) from the field, while Hamline shot 52.6 percent (30-of-57) from the floor.
• The Auggies claimed a 38-31 advantage on the boards.
• Augsburg outscored Hamline 32-24 in points in the paint and 52-25 in bench scoring.

FOR THE FOES
• Hamline finished with four players in double figures, led by Dior Ford and Dylan See-Rockers, who finished with 16 points apiece.
• The Pipers set a school record with 15 made 3-pointers in the game.
