Auggies drop 17-6 decision at Pacific

FOREST GROVE, Ore. -- Shelby Brion (SO, Clearwater, Minn./Monticello HS) scored two goals for Augsburg College, but the Auggies dropped a 17-6 decision to Pacific University (Ore.) in a nonconference women's lacrosse game on Tuesday evening at Hanson Stadium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Brion scored two second-half goals to lead the Auggies in the loss to the Boxers.
• Pacific outscored Augsburg by a 12-1 margin in the first half, outshooting the Auggies 20-3 in the opening stanza. Both teams had five goals in the second half, and Pacific outshot the Auggies by a 31-10 margin in the game.
• Natalie Shaw (SO, Robbinsdale, Minn./Cooper HS) had a goal and an assist for the Auggies, with Delaney Everett (FY, Brooklyn Center, Minn./Champlin Park HS), Dezera Sieracki (SO, Wyoming, Minn./Centennial HS) and Helena Nguyen (FY, Maple Grove, Minn.) also scoring goals.
• Ashley Pettipiece (FY, Mounds View, Minn./Irondale HS) and Emily Wirtz (SO, Blaine, Minn./Spring Lake Park HS) had assists for the Auggies.
• Everett had a team-best four draw controls for the Auggies, while Lexi Halvorson (SO, Lakeville, Minn./Lakeville South HS) had three. Both players also had three ground balls in the game, with Everett also claiming three caused turnovers.
• Goalie Marissa Guillou (FY, Burnsville, Minn./Apple Valley HS) had seven saves and five ground balls for the Auggies.
• Augsburg converted on 10-of-12 clearing attempts, while Pacific converted 10-of-11 clears. Pacific had 20 draw controls compared to Augsburg's seven.


FOR THE FOES
• Amy Mayhugh scored four goals and had two assists for Pacific, while Paisley Hiefield scored four goals. April Lanz scored three goals and had three assists.
• Adrienne Salzwedel had two saves in goal in the first half, with Kaitlin Ellis played in goal in the second half for the Boxers.
