Auggies score 13-3 win at Wartburg

WAVERLY, Iowa -- Ashley Pettipiece (FY, Mounds View, Minn./Irondale HS) scored three goals to lead a balanced scoring attack, as the Augsburg College women's lacrosse team claimed a 13-3 win over Wartburg College in a nonconference contest on Friday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Augsburg claimed an 8-0 lead at halftime, outshooting Wartburg by a 19-2 margin. After Wartburg scored its first goal of the game, the Auggies scored five straight goals to take a 13-1 lead with 7:20 left in the game, before the Knights scored twice in the final 3:42.
• Pettipiece scored three goals on five shots, adding a ground ball in the win.

• Rachel Frantz (SO, Mounds View, Minn./Irondale HS), Helena Nguyen (FY, Maple Grove, Minn.) and Katie Luschwitz (SO, Whitney Point, N.Y.) scored two goals each for the Auggies.
• Dezera Sieracki (SO, Wyoming, Minn./Centennial HS), Lexi Halvorson (SO, Lakeville, Minn./Lakeville South HS), Delaney Everett (FY, Brooklyn Center, Minn./Champlin Park HS) and 
Shelby Brion (SO, Clearwater, Minn./Monticello HS) also scored goals for the Auggies.
• Augsburg outshot Wartburg by a 25-6 margin and had 11 draw controls to Wartburg's six. Halvorson claimed six draw controls, while Everett had three and Sieracki had two. Everett also had two caused turnovers in the game.
• Augsburg had four clears in five attempts.

• Goalie Marissa Guillou (FY, Burnsville, Minn./Apple Valley HS) had one save in the win.

FOR THE FOES
• Niki Harrison, Megan Howe and Kyra Saragaglia scored goals for Wartburg.
• Karolina Paulsen had five saves in goal.
