BOXSCORE 4 AUGSBURG INVITATIONAL PAGEMINNEAPOLIS -- The Augsburg College volleyball team closed out its 34th annual Augsburg Invitational with a four-set win over UM-Morris and a five-set thriller against UW-Eau Claire to end the tournament 4-0. On Friday, the Auggies scored another five-set win over UW-La Crosse, then in the nightcap rallied for a four-set win to against Northwestern.
Ashley Peper led the Auggie offensive attack all weekend as she finished the tournament with the most kills (79), and the highest kills per-set average (4.39). Orchestrating Augsburg's offense was setter
Courtney Lemke, who finished with the most overall assists (190) and third in the tournament in assists per-set (10.56).
Macey Terhell has settled in nicely as the Auggie first-year libero as she recorded the most digs of all players over the weeekend (101).

Friday, Sept. 11
Augsburg def. University of Wisconsin-La Crosse 3-2 (18-25, 25-21, 20-25, 25-22, 15-13)RECORDS: Augsburg 5-2, UW-La Crosse 5-2
BOXSCOREHOW IT HAPPENED• UW-La Crosse was coming off an emotional five-set victory over No. 20 St. Thomas in which the fifth set ended 20-18.
• The Eagles carried that momentum into their match with the Auggies and earned a set one win. The teams traded sets until the deciding fifth where Augsburg eventually prevailed with a 15-13 win.
• Ashley Peper led all players with 20 kills on 45 attemtps (.356 hitting percentage), 12 digs, and three blocks.
• Taylor Linn also recorded double digit kills with 11, and she added eight digs and two service aces.
• Jessica Lillquist finished with six kills and four blocks (one solo).
• Courtney Lemke led Augsburg with 39 assists, and added 15 digs and three kills.
• Macey Terhell and DeeDee Maier continue to provide strong defensive performances with 27 and 13 digs respectively. Maier also added three service aces, while Terhell added three assists and an ace.
FOR THE FOES
• The Eagles had four players record double digit kill totals. Leah Putzier led them with 15 kills, while Jill Entinger and Ashley Entinger each fininshed with 13.
• Stephanie Henk recorded 12 kills and nine digs.
• Putzier also recorded 13 digs, while the Entiger's combined for seven blocks.
• Jaclyn Barrette recorded a match-best 52 assists, while adding six blocks.

BOXSCOREHOW IT HAPPENED• For the second match in a row, the Auggies dropped their first set, but rallied to win three straight and avenge last weekend's loss to Northwestern with this four-set win on Friday.
• Ashley Peper again led all players with 19 kills, and added 10 digs for her second kill-dig double double in as many matches in the Augsburg Invitational. Peper recorded those 19 kills on 43 attempts for a .349 hitting percentage.
• Taylor Linn and Jessica Lillquist each recorded strong matches again with 13 and nine respectively.
• Jordan Weeding and Bridget Bednar were the difference in this match recording 12 kills and 12 blocks (2 solo) between the two of them. Weeding finished with seven kills and five blocks (one solo), while Bednar tallied five kills and seven blocks (one solo).
• Augsburg recorded 11 team blocks compared to Northwestern's five. • Courtney Lemke finished with a match-best 47 assists, and she added 14 digs, two blocks, a kill and an ace.
• DeeDee Maier and
Macey Terhell each finished with 18 digs.
FOR THE FOES• The Eagles had two players record double digit kill totals, Lindsey Peterson with 15 and Shanay Gonder 10. Peterson also finished with 18 digs. • Lizzy Jonas and Kaelyn Kilbo split setting duties and dished out 23 and 15 assists respectively.
• Jackie Foster led all players with 25 digs.
• Faith Vander Galien finished with eight kills and five blocks (one solo).
Saturday, Sept. 6
Augsburg def. UM-Morris 3-1 (17-25, 25-18, 25-20, 25-19)RECORDS: Augsburg 7-2, UM-Morris 5-4
BOXSCOREHOW IT HAPPENED• For the third match in a row the Auggies dropped the first set, but battled back and won the match in four. •
Ashley Peper led all players with 19 kills with a .311 hitting percentage. Peper also recorded eight digs and a service ace.

Jessica Lillquist tallied 11 kills a piece, whilie Lillquist added two blocks (one solo).

Jaelyn Arndt finished with seven kills, while
Ellen Sachs recorded 15 digs.

Courtney Lemke led all players with 48 assists, and added 14 digs and three kills.

Macey Terhell led the Auggies with 25 digs.
?FOR THE FOES• Marissa Ekness finished with the best all-around performance for the Cougars with 14 kills and 12 digs. • Aby Tietz (16) and Corie Becker (12) recorded double digit kill totals as well.
• Brooke Decker finished with 38 assists, 15 digs, and two blocks.

HOW IT HAPPENED• Augsburg lost the first two sets, but rallied to win three in a row and the match• The Auggies finished with four players with double digit kill totals, while UW-Eau Claire had five.

Bridget Bednar finished with 11, and
Jessica Lillquist and
Jaelyn Arndt each recorded 10.
• Peper recorded 17 digs,

• The setters from both teams were locked in an epic dual as each of them finished with 56. Lemke also recorded nine digs, four kills and two service aces.
• The Auggies finished with eight blocks compare to the BluGolds three. Bednar led the way for the Auggies with four, while
Jordan Weeding and
Taylor Linn each recorded three. Weeding also tallied seven kills.
FOR THE FOES• Katrina Raskie, Kelly Riesgraf, Emily Miller, Hanna Theisen, and Keagan Kinsella all finished with more than 10 kills as they recorded 16, 14, 13, 11, and 10 respectively. • Setter Jenna Smits finished with 56 assists, 15 digs, and six kills
The Auggies return to action Wednesday (9/16) when they travel to Northfield for a 7 p.m. start against St. Olaf in the conference opener.
