Augsburg claims big MIAC men's soccer win over Carleton

MINNEAPOLIS -- Tommy Molski (SO, Woodbury, Minn./North St. Paul HS) claimed his third straight shutout in goal, leading an Augsburg College defense that held firm in a 1-0 Auggie win over Carleton College in a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference men's soccer game on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Molski collected four saves in goal to score his third straight shutout victory for Augsburg, improving to 3-1-0 on the season.
• Ben Henry (JR, Manitowoc, Wis./Lincoln HS) scored the lone goal of the game for the Auggies in the 36th minute, putting home a feed in front by Luke Falk (FY, Waukesha, Wis./Waukesha West HS) following a corner kick by Jason Scheeler (SO, Blaine, Minn.). 
• Carleton outshot Augsburg by a 20-7 margin, including a 12-1 advantage in the second half. Molski came up with three of his four saves in goal in the second half.
• Festus Lamin (JR, Little Canada, Minn./Roseville HS) had two shots for the Auggies.

• Augsburg honored its 1975 MIAC championship team during halftime of Saturday's game. Under the direction of Augsburg Athletic Hall of Famer Jim Agre '72, the Auggies went 15-2-1 overall, 12-1-1 in MIAC play, and reached the second round of the NAIA Area III Playoffs. The title capped a stretch of three straight MIAC men's soccer championships for the Auggies.
