Auggies battle with Gusties in four-setter

BOXSCORE ST. PETER, Minn. -- The Augsburg College volleyball team was bested in four-sets by Gustavus Adolphus in a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference matchup Wednesday night. The Auggies were led by Jordan Weeding (SO, Greenfield, Minn./Rockford HS) who led all players with 19 kills.

RECORDS: Augsburg 12-5 overall (1-3 MIAC), Gustavus 13-2 overall (4-0 MIAC)

HOW IT HAPPENED
• The Auggies dropped the first two sets before winning set three, then nearly pushed the match to a fifth but eventually fell 22-25 in the fourth set.
• Weeding finished with 19 kills with a match-best attack percentage of .350 and added a block. 
• Ashley Peper  (SR, Bloomington, Minn/Jefferson HS) and Jessica Lillquist (SR, Sebeka, Minn.) recorded nine kills each, while Peper added 12 digs. 

• Macey Terhell (FY, Osceola, Wis.) and Taylor Linn (SO, Shoreview, Minn./Mounds View HS) led the Auggie defense with 18 and 17 digs respectively. Linn added four kills, two assists and a solo block. 
• Morgan Malley (FY, Harmony, MInn./Fillmore Central HS) dished out 31 assists with 10 digs and two kills.  

FOR THE FOES
• The Gusties had three players finish with double digit kill totals. Becca Woodstra, Alyssa Taylor, and Lauren Hanson recorded 12, 11, and 10 kills respectively.  
• Nora Holton finished with a match-high 35 assists, adding 20 digs and four kills. 

UP NEXT
• Augsburg travels to St. Paul, Minn. on Saturday (10/3) for a conference match against Macalester at 3 p.m. 
• Gustavus will host St. Thomas on Saturday (10/3) at 3 p.m.
