Auggies fall 4-1 to No. 4-ranked Pointers

MINNEAPOLIS -- Corbin Chapman (JR, Burnsville, Minn.) scored the lone goal of the game for Augsburg College in a 4-1 loss to the No. 4-ranked University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point in a nonconference men's hockey game on Saturday afternoon at Ed Saugestad Rink.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Chapman scored from Luke Dietsch (FY, St. Paul, Minn./Cretin-Derham Hall HS) at the 7:41 mark of the third period for the Auggies, scoring his sixth goal of the season.
• The Pointers scored in the opening minute of both the second and third periods to take a 4-0 advantage.
• UW-Stevens Point outshot Augsburg by a 30-26 margin in the game.

• Dietsch and Lukas Gillett (FY, Rosemount, Minn.) had three shots each for the Auggies.
• Making his third start of the season, Brandon Jones (SR, Fridley, Minn./Spring Lake Park HS) had 26 saves in goal for the Auggies.


FOR THE FOES
• Tanner Karty scored two goals for the Pointers, ranked No. 4 in the latest USCHO.com Division III national poll. He scored from Nick D'Avolio and Logan Lemirande at the 38-second mark of the second period, then scored from Stephan Beauvais and D'Avolio 26 seconds into the third period.
• Jacob Barber opened the scoring with a goal from Lawrence Cornell at the 17:01 mark of the first period, and Jono Davis scored from Ethan Strong and B.J. Duffin at the 11:04 mark of the second period.
• Max Milosek had 25 saves in goal for UW-Stevens Point.
