Allen records shutout over former team

MINNEAPOLIS -- Erika Allen (SR, Roseville, Minn.) stopped all 26 shots she faced for her 10th career shutout, as her Augsburg College women's hockey team scored a 2-0 win over her former team, Bethel University, in a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference contest on Saturday evening at Ed Saugestad Rink.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Allen, who played her first two seasons at Bethel before transferring to Augsburg, collected 26 saves for her first shutout of the year and fourth as an Auggie.
Darby Lindgren (JR, Lakeville, Minn./Shattuck-St. Mary's HS) put home a rebound off her own missed shot for an unassisted goal at the 7:38 mark of the second period, giving the Auggies a 1-0 lead.
Megan Johnson (FY, Madison, Wis./Memorial HS) sealed the win for the Auggies with an unassisted, empty-net goal with 33 seconds left in the third period.
• Augsburg outshot Bethel by a 34-26 margin in the game, including a 29-16 advantage in the final two periods.
• Callen Naasz (JR, Lakeville, Minn./Lakeville South HS) had six shots on-goal for the Auggies, while Johnson had five shots. Lindgren and Kayla Fuechtmann (SR, Circle Pines, Minn./Centennial HS) had four shots each.


BEYOND THE BOXSCORE
• Johnson now has a team-high 12 points (eight goals, four assists), tied for fifth-most among MIAC players in overall statistics. Her 12 points and eight goals are both tops among MIAC rookies. She is now on a four-game point-scoring streak.
• Lindgren now has nine points (four goals, five assists) on the season, tied for 14th-most among MIAC players.

• Michelle Klimstra had 32 saves in goal for Bethel.
• Wendy Roberts had four shots on-goal for the Royals, while Hannah Williams, Caroline Kivisto, Abby Larson and Natalie Simons had three shots each.
