MINNEAPOLIS -- Erika Allen (SR, Roseville, Minn.) recorded her third straight shutout in goal, lifting her Augsburg College women's hockey team to its second straight 3-0 win over Concordia College-Moorhead on Saturday afternoon at Ed Saugestad Rink, claiming a key Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference series sweep in the process.

LOCATION: Ed Saugestad Rink, Minneapolis
RECORDS: Augsburg 10-6-1 overall (7-2-1 MIAC), Concordia 9-7-1 overall (7-3-0 MIAC)

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Allen stopped all 21 shots she faced to claim her third shutout of the year, sixth as an Auggie and 12th of her career.
• After two scoreless periods, Megan Johnson (FY, Madison, Wis./Memorial HS) put the Auggies in front with her ninth goal of the season at the 12:33 mark of the third period, assisted by Taral Clayton (SO, Anchorage, Alaska/Dimond HS).
• Callen Naasz (JR, Lakeville, Minn./Lakeville South HS) scored on the power play at the 18:04 mark, assisted by Ashley Kloncz (JR, Lakeville, Minn./Lakeville North HS) and Savannah Seeger (JR, Rochester, Minn./John Marshall HS).
• Kayla Fuechtmann (SR, Circle Pines, Minn./Centennial HS) capped the win with an unassisted, empty-net goal at the 19:47 mark.
• Concordia outshot Augsburg by a 21-20 margin. Fuechtmann had seven shots on-goal, while Naasz had four shots.

BEYOND THE BOXSCORE
• Augsburg's three shutouts in a row mark its first stretch of three straight shutouts since the 2002-03 season -- a 0-0 overtime tie against St. Catherine on Feb. 15, 2003, and a sweep of Saint Benedict, 6-0 and 3-0, on Feb. 22-23, 2003. The three straight shutout victories are Augsburg's first against three varsity opponents in program history. The Auggies did record three shutout wins in the 1997-98 season, but two of the wins were against club opponents -- a 6-0 varsity win over Chatham (Mass.) on Nov. 22, 1997, and two 1-0 wins over the Wisconsin-Madison club team on Dec. 6-7, 1997.
• With eight games remaining in the regular season, Augsburg has now surpassed its win total from each of the last two campaigns with its 10th victory. Augsburg finished 9-11-5 last season and 9-16-0 in 2013-14. With eight league wins, Augsburg also surpassed its MIAC win total of seven games from last season (7-7-4). Augsburg's last double-digit win season was also its last season appearing in the MIAC postseason playoffs, 2004-05 (13-10-3 overall, 10-7-1 MIAC).
• Augsburg is now in second place in the MIAC standings with 15 league points, two points behind new league-leader St. Thomas' 17 points (8-1-1 MIAC) and now ahead of Concordia's 14 points.
• Johnson extended her point-scoring streak to six straight games with her goal. She now has a team-high 15 points (nine goals, six assists), second-most among MIAC players in overall statistics. Her 14 points and eight goals are both tops among MIAC rookies.
• Johnson's nine goals are the most by an Augsburg first-year player since Rachel Hennessy's 20 in the 2011-12 season. Her 15 points are tied with Naasz's 15 points (four goals, 11 assists) in 2013-14 for the second-most by an Auggie first-year since Hennessy's 28 points in 2011-12.
• Allen's 1.63 goals-against-average is now fourth-best among MIAC goalies, while her .933 save percentage is seventh-best.

FOR THE FOES
• Andrea Klug had 17 saves in goal for Concordia.
• Anna Westmark had five shots on-goal for the Cobbers, while Abby Kratzke and Tori Davis had four shots each.
