Auggies blanked 2-0 by St. Norbert

MINNEAPOLIS -- A first-period goal and third-period empty-net goal provided the margin of victory for St. Norbert College in a 2-0 win over host Augsburg College in a nonconference women's hockey game on Sunday afternoon at Ed Saugestad Rink.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Making her sixth start of her collegiate career and first at home, goalie Rebecca Sonnek (SO, Edina, Minn.) collected 15 saves in goal for the Auggies, including nine saves in the third period.
• Augsburg was outshot by a 17-16 margin by St. Norbert. 
• Kayla Fuechtmann (SR, Circle Pines, Minn./Centennial HS) and Darby Lindgren (JR, Lakeville, Minn./Shattuck-St. Mary's HS) had three shots on-goal each for te Auggies, while Bridget Walter (FY, Princeton, Minn.), Megan Johnson (FY, Madison, Wis./Memorial HS) and Brenna Nakonechny (SR, Grand Forks, N.D./Red River HS) had two shots each.

FOR THE FOES
• Abbie Canton gave the Green Knights a 1-0 lead with a goal from Emily Bondrager at the 11:03 mark of the first period.
• Reaghan Chadwick scored an empty-net goal with 37 seconds left in the third period, assisted by Jillian Kosteck and Bondrager.
• Leigh Grall had 16 saves in goal for the Green Knights.

UP NEXT
• Augsburg hosts Stevenson (Md.) in a nonconference series next weekend at Ed Saugestad Rink. Next Saturday's (1/9) game is at 7 p.m., and next Sunday's (1/10) game is at 2 p.m.
