Cobbers pull away in 2nd half for win over Auggies

MINNEAPOLIS -- Despite 20 points each from Harry Sonie (SO, Burnsville, Minn./Apple Valley HS) and Collin Olmscheid (SO, Buffalo, Minn.), the Augsburg College men's basketball team was unable to counter a Concordia College-Moorhead second-half comeback, as the Cobbers claimed an 86-78 win over the Auggies in a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference men's basketball game on Saturday afternoon at Si Melby Hall.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Trailing 62-59 with 7:48 left to play, Concordia went on a 18-2 run over the next 6:37, expanding its lead to its largest margin, 77-64 with 1:11 remaining.
• Olmscheid scored 20 points on 7-of-11 shooting from the field, while contributing two rebounds and two assists.
• Sonie scored 20 points with four assists and three rebounds.
Brett Rasmussen (JR, Lakeville, Minn./Lakeville North HS) scored 12 points with four rebounds and an assist.
Richie Perea (JR, Colorado Springs, Colo./Wasson HS) scored 11 points with seven assists and three rebounds.
Ryan Gilmer (Sr, Bloomington, Minn./Jefferson HS) came off the bench to score nine points, and Joe Zangel (SR, Richfield, Minn./St. Louis Park HS) had seven rebounds with four points and two assists.
• Augsburg shot 51.9 percent (28-of-54) from the field in the game, while Concordia shot 52.6 percent (30-of-57).
• Concordia outrebounded Augsburg by a 33-22 margin and also had five blocked shots and six steals in the game, compared to zero in each category for the Auggies.


FOR THE FOES
• Concordia was paced by Jordan Bolger, who nearly had a triple-double with 21 points, 13 rebounds, seven assists and three steals.
• Dylan Alderman scored 16 points with six assists and three rebounds, and Tom Fraase scored 13 points with five assists and two steals.
• Brady Syverson scored 12 points with four rebounds, and Isaac Anderson came off the bench to score 13 points with eight rebounds and two blocked shots.
