HOW IT HAPPENED

• Claiming his third multi-goal game of the season, Flynn scored from Max Pernhem (SO, Stockholm, Sweden/Dragonskolan) at the 1:13 mark of the second period, then scored a power-play goal from Corbin Chapman (JR, Burnsville, Minn.) and Eric Brenk (FY, Moorhead, Minn.) at the 11:30 mark of the third period.

• The Auggies capped the victory with two goals in the final 1:51 of the game. Chris Nuth (JR, Trabuco Canyon, Calif./Mission Viejo HS) scored an empty-net goal from Andy Faust (SO, Stillwater, Minn./Hill-Murray HS) and Drew Allen (SR, Arvada, Colo./Ralston Valley HS) at the 18:09 mark, and Lukas Gillett (FY, Rosemount, Minn.) scored from Anderson and Trevor Stewart (JR, Highlands Ranch, Colo./Eastmont HS) with 36 seconds left.
• A transfer from Concordia-Moorhead, Kaufer claimed his second collegiate shutout and first as an Auggie, stopping all 29 shots he faced.
• Augsburg went 1-for-3 on the power play, while limiting Saint Mary's to 0-for-6 on its power-play opportunities.

BEYOND THE BOXSCORE
• With the win, combined with St. Thomas' tie with Saint John's (the Johnnies gained a bonus point with 4-3 shootout win), Augsburg pulled out to a four-point lead over the Tommies and Johnnies in the MIAC regular-season standings. Augsburg (25 points) and St. Thomas (21 points) have six conference games remaining in the regular season, while Saint John's (21 points) has four games left.
• Flynn's 24 points (13 goals, 11 assists) are fifth-most among MIAC players in overall statistics. His 13 goals are tied for fourth-most, and his 11 assists are tied for ninth-most.
• Vesel's 14 assists are sixth-most among MIAC players in overall statistics.
• The first MIAC goalie to reach the 11-win mark this season, Kaufer stands second among MIAC goalies in overall goals-against-average (2.19) and second in save percentage (.917).

• The two-assist effort marked Anderson's fourth multi-point game of the season.
