Allen scores twice in Augsburg's 5-2 win

MINNEAPOLIS -- Drew Allen (SR, Arvada, Colo./Ralston Valley HS) scored the first and last goal of the game for Augsburg College, as the Auggies won their fourth straight game, a 5-2 triumph over Bethel University in a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference men's hockey game on Friday evening at Ed Saugestad Rink.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Allen opened the scoring for the Auggies just 70 seconds into the game, assisted by Chris Nuth (JR, Trabuco Canyon, Calif./Mission Viejo HS). He finished the scoring for the Auggies with a goal at the 14:11 mark of the third period, assisted by Trevor Stewart (JR, Highlands Ranch, Colo./Eastmont HS) and Eli May (SO, Eagan, Minn.).
• Corbin Chapman (JR, Burnsville, Minn.) tied the game for the Auggies at 2-2 with his fifth goal of the season, assisted by Nate Flynn (SO, Hastings, Minn.) at the 13:02 mark of the first period.
• Nuth gave the Auggies the lead for good with his third goal of the season, assisted by Stewart, at the 6:26 mark of the second period.
• Luke Dietsch (FY, St. Paul, Minn./Cretin-Derham Hall HS) scored his first collegiate goal at the 14:52 mark of the second period, a shorthanded goal. He took a loose puck dumped behind the Bethel net and shot it past a sliding Bethel goalie.
• Augsburg claimed a 37-28 shots-on-goal advantage over Bethel, the Auggies' 10th game, and sixth in a row, with 30-plus shots.
• Jordyn Kaufer (SO, Stillwater, Minn.) had 26 saves in goal for the Auggies in the win.

• Augsburg has now won seven of its last eight games, after starting the season 1-3-0.

FOR THE FOES
• Bethel scored two power-play goals in a 2:35 span early in the game. George Splichal scored from Tony Larson and Mitch Hughes at the 1:29 mark of the first period, followed by Hughes' goal from Jackson Purvis and Larson at the 4:04 mark.
• Jesse Garcia had 32 saves in goal for Bethel.
