Taral Clayton (JR, Anchorage, Alaska/Dimond HS) and
Megan Johnson (SO, Madison, Wis./Memorial HS) scored power-play goals for the Augsburg College women's hockey team, as the Auggies claimed their fifth win in a row with a 2-1 triumph over St. Catherine University in a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference game on Saturday afternoon at Drake Ice Arena.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Clayton gave the Auggies a 1-0 lead on a power-play goal at the 13:10 mark of the first period, assisted by
Danielle Heitkamp (SR, Bismarck, N.D./Grand Rapids (Minn.) HS) and
Callen Naasz (SR, Lakeville, Minn./Lakeville South HS).
• Johnson added to the Auggie advantage on the power play, scoring at the 16:15 mark of the second period, assisted by
Valerie Whichello (SO, Woodbury, Minn./East Ridge HS) and Mackenzie Molar (FY, Inver Grove Heights, Minn./Cretin-Derham Hall HS).

Rebecca Sonnek (JR, Edina, Minn.) claimed her second straight win in the series in goal, stopping 14 of the 15 shots she faced.
• Augsburg outshot St. Catherine by a 35-15 margin in the game, including a 27-9 advantage in the first two periods.
Ashley Kloncz (SR, Lakeville, Minn./Lakeville North HS) and
Bridget Wagner (FY, Niles, Ill./Maine South HS) had four shots on-goal each for the Auggies.
FOR THE FOES
• Laken Muller scored the lone goal for the Wildcats in the game, assisted by Jordan Solheim 2:33 into the third period.
• Kristen Pechacek had 33 saves in goal for the Wildcats.

• Augsburg returns to action next weekend with a MIAC series against Gustavus. Next Friday's (11/18) game is at 7 p.m. at Gustavus, and next Saturday's (11/19) game is at 7 p.m. at Ed Saugestad Rink.
