MINNEAPOLIS -- The Augsburg College men's hockey team had its nine-game unbeaten streak to open the 2016-17 season snapped on Saturday evening, as St. Olaf College claimed a 2-1 upset of the No. 6-ranked Auggies in a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference contest at Ed Saugestad Rink.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Augsburg's lone goal came at the 15:53 mark of the first period, as
Lukas Gillett (SO, Rosemount, Minn.) scored a power-play goal, assisted by
Luke Dietsch (SO, St. Paul, Minn./Cretin-Derham Hall HS) and
Eli May (JR, Eagan, Minn.).
• Augsburg outshot St. Olaf by a 32-24 margin, but could not net a tying goal in the final two periods, following St. Olaf's go-ahead goal 55 seconds into the second frame.

Jordyn Kaufer (SR, Stillwater, Minn.) took the loss in goal for the Auggies, collecting 22 saves.

Trevor Stewart (SR, Highlands Ranch, Colo./Eastmont HS) had five shots on-goal for the Auggies, while
Nate Flynn (JR, Hastings, Minn.) had four shots.
FOR THE FOES
• Jonas Fredricksson opened the scoring for St. Olaf with a goal from Gordon Wells and Garrit Otten at the 8:43 mark of the first period.
• Tuukka Totro gave the Oles the lead with a goal 55 seconds into the second period, assisted by Drew Otto and Steven Sherman.
• Jude Hull had 31 saves in goal for the Oles.
