APPLETON, Wis. -- The Augsburg College men's hockey team took a 2-1 lead into the third period, but Lawrence University scored four goals in the final frame to capture a 5-3 win in a nonconference contest on Friday night.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Rory Vesel (SR, Rochester, Minn./Lourdes HS) scored a power-play goal and added an assist on another in the second period, as Augsburg rallied from a 1-0 deficit to take a 2-1 lead. He scored 55 seconds into the period, assisted by
Corbin Chapman (SR, Burnsville, Minn.) and
Nate Flynn (JR, Hastings, Minn.), then assisted on a power-play goal byÂ
Luke Dietsch (SO, St. Paul, Minn./Cretin-Derham Hall HS) at the 9:04 mark.Â
Lukas Gillett (SO, Rosemount, Minn.) also assisted on Dietsch's goal.
• Lawrence scored twice in the first 5:45 of the third period to take a 3-2 lead, but
Max Pernhem (JR, Stockholm, Sweden/Dragonskolan) tied the game at the 13:00 mark, assisted by
Eric Brenk (SO, Moorhead, Minn.). However, Lawrence scored the goal-ahead goal 30 seconds later, and added an empty-net goal with five seconds left in the contest.
• Augsburg outshot Lawrence by a 45-35 margin.
Nick Schmit (SO, Fargo, N.D./Fargo North HS) had 30 saves in goal for the Auggies.
FOR THE FOES
• Blake Roubos scored two goals and added an assist for the Vikings, while Josh Koepplinger also scored two goals, including the eventual game-winner in the third period. Jake Drinkard scored the other Lawrence goal.
• Mattias Soderqvist had 42 saves in goal for Lawrence, and added an assist on Roubos' empty-net goal in the closing seconds.
