MINNEAPOLIS -- The Augsburg College women's basketball team continued its strong start to the season, improving to 7-1 with a 82-59 nonconference win over Martin Luther College on Monday night at Si Melby Hall.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• The Auggies started the game on a 17-3 run and never looked back. Augsburg took a 38-19 lead into the locker room at the half and stretched its lead to as many as 40 points early in the fourth quarter before going on to claim the 82-59 victory. Thirteen different Auggies saw action in the game, with 11 factoring into the scoring.
• Augsburg was led offensively by
Aiza Wilson (FY, Minneapolis, Minn./DeLaSalle HS), who scored a game-high 18 points on a 7-for-11 shooting performance, which included a 4-of-7 effort from three-point range. Wilson added five assists in 30 minutes of action.

Tamira McLemore (FY, Eagan, Minn.) scored 15 points, while adding five rebounds, four assists and three steals.
• The Augsburg team recorded a season-best 28 assists, led by a season-best seven from
K'Aezha Wubben (FY, Minneapolis, Minn./Hopkins HS).
• Coming off the bench, Carlee Kobow (SO, Becker, Minn.) scored a career-high 10 points on a perfect night -- 3-for-3 from the floor and 4-for-4 from the free-throw line.

Bridget Bednar (JR, Pierz, Minn.) led the Auggies on the boards, pulling down six rebounds, while adding four points.
• For the game, Augsburg connected on 42.5 percent (31-of-73) of its shot attempts, while the Knights were held to 32.3 percent (21-of-65) shooting from the floor. Martin Luther claimed a 46-43 advantage on the boards.
• The Auggies claimed a 23-12 advantage in points off turnovers and a 16-7 advantage in fast break points.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE
• Augsburg's all-time record against Martin Luther College is 4-2. The series dates back to the 1979 season, but prior to today's contest, the most recent meeting between the two squads was Feb. 6, 1984, when Augsburg claimed a 78-73 victory in Minneapolis.
FOR THE FOES
• The Knights were led by Grace Schultz, who posted a 16-point, 11-rebound double-double, while adding a game-high four steals.
• Mariah Schoof also finished with 16 points for Martin Luther. She added four assists and three blocked shots.
• Martin Luther claimed a 23-9 advantage in second-chance points.
