Auggies lead from start to finish over Pipers

MINNEAPOLIS -- Leading for all but 3:05 in the game, the Augsburg College women's basketball team dominated in a 62-42 win over Hamline University in a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference game on Wednesday evening at Si Melby Hall.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Augsburg led 30-20 at halftime and 43-35 after three quarters. The Auggies used a 19-7 fourth quarter to pull away to its final and largest margin of victory.
• Maria Loughlin (SR, Rogers, Minn.) led the way for the Auggies with 18 points, a season-high eight assists, three rebounds, a blocked shot and a steal.
• Hannah Steinhaus (SO, Waterville, Minn./Waterville-Elysian-Morristown HS) scored 12 points with nine rebounds, and assist, block and steal.
• Allison McKee (SR, New Brighton, Minn./Mounds View HS) scored nine points with six rebounds.
• Bridget Bednar (SO, Pierz, Minn.) scored seven points with six rebounds, and assist and a blocked shot.
• Thirteen different Auggies saw game action and nine scored.
• The Auggies connected on 42.4 percent (25-of-59) from the field in the game, while Hamline hit 30.4 percent (17-of-56).
• Augsburg forced 13 Hamline turnovers, converting them into 15 points. 


BEYOND THE BOXSCORE
• Augsburg's 20-point margin of victory marked its fourth victory of the season by 20 points or more.
• The Auggies committed a season-low four turnovers in the game.


FOR THE FOES
• Chloe Graves led the Pipers with 10 points and three assists.
• Chelsey Bonsante scored nine points with six rebounds and three assists.

• Emily Behrman scored nine points with eight rebounds and three assists.
