Auggies earn two wins on day two of Gene Cusic Classic

FORT MYERS, Fla.-- The Augsburg College softball team is heating up in Florida, scoring 22 runs in 11 innings and two games on day two of the Gene Cusic Classic in Florida on Saturday.

HIGHLIGHTS VS. KENYON
Samantha Anderson (FY, Coon Rapids, Minn.) improved to 3-1 on the year pitching 4.1 innings, scattering three hits, one run and striking out eight. 
• The Auggies jumped out to an early lead, scoring seven runs in the first inning. 
• Three Auggies finished with multi-hit games as Carly Dropik (FY, Alexandria, Minn.), Brianna Cline (SO, St. Clair, Minn.) and Haley Larson (SO, Shakopee, Minn.Prior Lake HS) all recorded two hits. Dropik and Cline each finished with an identical line of 2-for-3 with two RBI, a double, a walk and two runs apiece. Larson went 2-for-2 with two RBI, two runs and a walk. 
• Augsburg finished with 10 hits, while Kenyon recorded five.
• The other four Auggies to record hits were Anna Podewils (FY, Burnsville, Minn./DeLaSalle HS), Ashley Anfinson (SR, Watertown, Minn./Watertown-Mayer HS), Taylor Mattice (SO, Woodbury, Minn./Centennial HS) and Jenna Orth (SR, Melrose, Minn.).
