Auggies dominate in 16-1 win at Concordia-Chicago

RIVER FOREST, Ill. -- Claiming a 27-4 advantage in shots, the Augsburg College women's lacrosse team dominated from start to finish in a 16-1 Midwest Women's Lacrosse Conference win at Concordia University-Chicago on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Augsburg scored the first 13 goals of the game and led 13-1 at halftime, outshooting the Cougars by a 20-4 margin in the first half. Augsburg outshot Concordia by a 7-0 margin in the second half, adding three more goals.
• Ten different Auggies scored goals in the game, led by Izzy Snow (FY, Golden Valley, Minn./Robbinsdale Armstrong HS), who scored three goals on four shots, adding three ground balls, two draw controls and a caused turnover.
• Ashley Pettipiece (SO, Mounds View, Minn./Irondale HS) scored two goals with an assist, adding a ground ball and draw control. Delaney Everett (SO, Brooklyn Center, Minn./Champlin Park HS) scored two goals with three ground balls and a caused turnover, and Christina Nelson (FY, Bloomington, Minn./Kennedy HS) scored two goals with a ground ball.
• Also scoring goals for the Auggies were Aliya Hinz (FY, Loretto, Minn./Delano HS), Shelby Brion (JR, Clearwater, Minn./Monticello HS), Helena Nguyen (SO, Maple Grove, Minn.), Rachel Frantz (JR, Mounds View, Minn./Irondale HS), Sheala Osborne (FY, West St. Paul, Minn./Cretin-Derham Hall HS), Katie Kvilvang (FY, Grand Rapids, Minn.) and Rosalyn Zirngible (SR, Eau Claire, Wis./Eau Claire North HS).
• Osborne had six ground balls, two caused turnovers and a draw control, while Zirngible had two caused turnovers and a ground ball.
• 
Marissa Guillou (SO, Burnsville, Minn./Apple Valley HS) had three assists, two ground balls and two caused turnovers, and Becky Genzler (FY, Farmington, Minn.) had two assists and a caused turnover.
• Lexi Halvorson (JR, Lakeville, Minn./Lakeville South HS) had three draw controls, two ground balls and a caused turnover. 
• Sarah Hochman (SO, Bloomington, Minn./Kennedy HS) recorded three saves in goal to earn the win for the Auggies, her first collegiate victory, adding two ground balls.

• Augsburg had 26 ground balls to Concordia's 14. The Auggies converted 11 of 13 clearing attempts, compared to five of 13 for Concordia. Concordia had nine draw controls, while Augsburg had eight.

FOR THE FOES
• Sonja Sorensen scored the lone goal of the game for Concordia-Chicago.
• Melissa Franco had five saves in goal for the Cougars.
