MINNEAPOLIS -- The Augsburg College baseball team dropped a pair of games in Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play to Saint John's University on Saturday afternoon, falling 8-4 and 9-8 at Parade Stadium.

GAME 1 HIGHLIGHTS
• Trailing 2-1 after three innings, Augsburg scored three runs in the bottom of the fourth to take the lead. But Saint John's scored five runs in the sixth inning and another in the seventh to claim the victory.

Andy Julkowski (SR, Cedar, Minn./St. Francis HS) hit a run-scoring double to put the Auggies on the scoreboard in the second inning.
• In the fourth,
Billy Brookshaw (SR, Prescott, Wis.) singled to drive in a run, followed by a two-run single by Tyler "Jonesy" Buescher (JR, Prior Lake, Minn.).

Bryce Pruszinske (SR, Savage, Minn./Burnsville HS) also had a base hit for the Auggies.

Lincoln Hochmuth (JR, Cannon Falls, Minn./St. Croix Lutheran HS) struck out one while walking three for the Auggies in 5.1 innings of work, with
Charles Linder (FY, Harris, Minn./North Branch HS) andÂ
Steven Piette (SR, Lino Lakes, Minn./Centennial HS) pitching in relief.
GAME 2 HIGHLIGHTS
• Trailing 6-0 after four innings, Augsburg stormed back with two runs in the fifth inning and five runs in the sixth. But Saint John's scored three runs in the top of the seventh to take the lead back, with Augsburg only able to manage a single run in the bottom of the eighth.
• Buescher hit a two-run double in the fifth for the Auggies.
• Augsburg sent 10 batters to the plate in the sixth inning.
Eric Olheiser (JR, Maplewood, Minn./Tartan HS) and
Rhett Hebig (JR, Apple Valley, Minn./Eastview HS) hit back-to-back doubles, with Olheiser driving in a run and Hebig driving in two. Sacrifice flies by
Brandon Schmahl (SR, Minneapolis, Minn./Washburn HS) and
Josh Marlowe (JR, North St. Paul, Minn.) also plated runs.
• Marlowe hit his second sacrifice fly of the day in the eighth inning to cut the Johnnie lead to 9-8.

Mike Brookshaw (FY, Prescott, Wis.) went 4-for-4 for the Auggies, while Julkowski went 3-for-5 and
Billy Brookshaw went 2-for-3. Hebig and
Billy Brookshaw scored two runs each.

Jordan Brandt (JR, Eagan, Minn.) struck out two while walking three in 4.0 innings of work.
Jacob Kari (SO, North Branch, Minn.) struck out two in 2.2 innings of work, with
Jamin Hesby (FY, Plymouth, Minn./Wayzata HS) pitched the final 2.1 innings.
FOR THE FOES
• Max Jackson hit a three-run triple as part of the Johnnies' five-run sixth inning in the first game.
• Mike Stegora hit a run-scoring double in the first game, and hit a two-run homer to put the Johnnies ahead in the seventh inning of the second game.
• Nick Noack picked up saves on the mound in both games for Saint John's.
