ARDEN HILLS, Minn. --
Samantha Anderson (FY, Coon Rapids, Minn.) struck out 14 batters in 10.1 innings of work, leading the Augsburg College softball team to a doubleheader sweep at Bethel University in Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference action on Saturday afternoon.

GAME 1 HIGHLIGHTS
• Anderson struck out nine while walking three and allowing eight hits in a complete-game victory.
• Tied at 2-2, Augsburg scored two runs in the top of the sixth inning, while Bethel scored one run in the bottom of the frame. Bethel left the bases loaded in the bottom of the sixth, and a lineout double play with two aboard ended the game in the bottom of the seventh.

Haley Larson (SO, Shakopee, Minn./Prior Lake HS) scored the Auggies' first run in the second inning, scoring after
Amanda Niznik (JR, Columbia Heights, Minn.) reached on an error.
• Anderson hit an RBI single to plate Megan Springborn (SO, Oakdale, Minn./St. Croix Lutheran HS) in the third inning.

Carly Dropik (FY, Alexandria, Minn.) led off the sixth with a single, moved to second on an error and third on a passed ball, then scored on a wild pitch. Later in teh inning, an RBI single by
Brianna Cline (SO, St. Clair, Minn.) plated
Ashley Anfinson (SR, Watertown, Minn./Watertown-Mayer HS).
• Cline and Dropik had two hits each to lead the Auggies.
GAME 2 HIGHLIGHTS
• Augsburg scored two runs in the second inning and a run in the fifth, while allowing just one run by Bethel in the second inning.
• Carrisa Struve (SO, Shoreview, Minn./Mounds View HS) started the second game for the Auggies, allowing just four hits and a run in 3.2 innings. Anderson struck out five while not walking a batter and allowing just two hits in 3.1 innings of relief to score the win.
• Anderson led off the second inning with a single and scored after Niznik reached base on a two-out error. Anfinson followed with a double to bring home Niznik.
• In the fifth inning, Cline led off with a walk, moved to third on a groundout and passed ball, then scored on a sacrifice bunt by
Taylor Mattice (SO, Woodbury, Minn./Centennial HS).
FOR THE FOES
• Caroline Kivisto had five hits in the doubleheader and two RBI for the Royals, hitting a solo home run and an RBI double in the first game.
• Wendy Roberts had four hits in the doubleheader, with a double in the first game and a double in the second game.
• Lindsay Edeen struck out five while walking two in a complete-game effort in the first game.
