Auggies close regular season with win at Loras

DUBUQUE, Iowa -- Behind five goals from Delaney Everett (SO, Brooklyn Center, Minn./Champlin Park HS), the Augsburg College women's lacrosse team closed its regular season with a 17-6 win at Loras College in a Midwest Women's Lacrosse Conference contest on Saturday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Everett scored all five of her goals in the first half, as Augsburg built a 12-1 halftime advantage. She added five ground balls, three draw controls and two caused turnovers in the victory.
• Augsburg outshot Loras by a 25-6 margin in the first half, en route to a 38-13 shots advantage in the game.
• Helena Nguyen (SO, Maple Grove, Minn.) and Sheala Osborne (FY, West St. Paul, Minn./Cretin-Derham Hall HS)  scored three goals each for the Auggies. Osborne had two ground balls and five draw controls, and Nguyen had a ground ball.
• Izzy Snow (FY, Golden Valley, Minn./Robbinsdale Armstrong HS) scored two goals with five draw controls, two caused turnovers and a ground ball.
• Rachel Frantz (JR, Mounds View, Minn./Irondale HS) scored a goal with three ground balls and two caused turnovers. Becky Genzler () scored a goal with three ground balls and a draw control.
• Ashley Pettipiece (SO, Mounds View, Minn./Irondale HS) scored a goal with two ground balls and a caused turnover, and Lexi Halvorson (JR, Lakeville, Minn./Lakeville South HS) scored a goal with two draw controls and a ground ball.
• Shelby Brion (SR, Clearwater, Minn./Monticello HS) claimed two assists and two caused turnovers.
• Goalie Marissa Guillou (SO, Burnsville, Minn./Apple Valley HS) had four saves and three ground balls.
• Augsburg had 16 draw controls to Loras' eight. The Auggies converted 9-of-13 clearing attempts, compared to 8-of-24 for Loras.

FOR THE FOES
• Kaitlyn Kutsch scored five goals for the Duhawks, with Sarah Hanson scoring the other goal.
• Hannah Nelson had six ground balls, a draw control and five caused turnovers. Nia Stompanto had six ground balls and two caused turnovers.
• Ashley McGee had 12 saves in goal for Loras, adding six ground balls.

UP NEXT
• Augsburg is the No. 3 seed in the four-team MWLC tournament, opening play on Friday (5/6) at 4 p.m. with a game against No. 2-seed Aurora. The tournament will be played at top-seed Concordia-Wisconsin in Mequon, Wis.
