Auggies claim 12-10 win on the road at Wartburg

WAVERLY, Iowa -- Claiming a 34-16 advantage in shots, the Augsburg College women's lacrosse team rallied for a 12-10 win over Wartburg College in a Midwest Women's Lacrosse Conference contest on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Trailing 7-5 at halftime, Augsburg scored seven of the next eight goals in the game, including two man-up goals and one man-down goal, to take a 12-8 lead with 4:14 left in the second half. Wartburg scored two goals in the final two minutes to trim the lead to the final margin.
• Helena Nguyen (SO, Maple Grove, Minn.) scored three goals to lead the Auggies, including a man-down and man-up goal in the Auggies' 7-1 run in the second half.
• Lexi Halvorson (JR, Lakeville, Minn./Lakeville South HS) and Sheala Osborne (FY, West St. Paul, Minn./Cretin-Derham Hall HS) scored two goals and added an assist each, with Halvorson adding three ground balls, two draw controls and a caused turnover, and Osborne adding four draw controls, two ground balls and a caused turnover.
• Christina Nelson (FY, Bloomington, Minn./Kennedy HS) scored two goals, adding two ground balls, two draw controls and a caused turnover.
• Ashley Pettipiece (SO, Mounds View, Minn./Irondale HS), Becky Genzler (FY, Farmington, Minn.) and Dezera Sieracki (JR, Wyoming, Minn./Centennial HS) also scored goals for the Auggies. Sieracki added two draw controls.
• Delaney Everett (SO, Brooklyn Center, Minn./Champlin Park HS) had three ground balls and a draw control for the Auggies.
• Goalie Marissa Guillou (SO, Burnsville, Minn./Apple Valley HS) had three saves and two ground balls.
• Augsburg outshot Wartburg by a 34-16 margin in the game, including a 19-7 advantage in the second half. The Auggies had 16 ground balls to Wartburg's 12, while Wartburg had 13 draw controls to Augsburg's 11.

FOR THE FOES
• Ashley Lahti scored five goals with an assist to lead the Knights, while Megan Howe scored two goals with an assist. Lahti had seven draw controls and two ground balls.
• Allie Stahmer scored two goals and Alexis Bodzioch scored a goal.
• Karolina Paulsen had 14 saves in goal for Wartburg.
