Molski has 6 saves in Auggies' scoreless draw

NORTHFIELD, Minn. -- Tommy Molski (JR, Woodbury, Minn./North St. Paul HS) recorded six saves in goal for Augsburg College, as the Auggies and host Carleton College played to a scoreless, two-overtime tie in a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference men's soccer contest on Saturday afternoon.

THE BASICS
FINAL SCORE: Augsburg 0, Carleton 0 (2OT)
LOCATION: Bell Field, Northfield, Minn.
RECORDS: Augsburg 2-3-1 overall (1-0-1 MIAC), Carleton 3-1-1 overall (0-0-1 MIAC)

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Molski came up with six saves -- four in the second half and one in overtime -- to claim his third shutout of the season and seventh of his collegiate career. Among Molski's six saves was a diving stop on a Carleton penalty kick attempt in the 62nd minute.
• Carleton outshot Augsburg by a 15-12 margin, including a 5-3 advantage in the 20 minutes of overtime.
• Augsburg had two shots on-goal in the second overtime -- a header by Nathan Bergstrom (SO, Prior Lake, Minn.) that was saved by a Carleton defender, and a shot by Luke Falk (SO, Waukesha, Wis./Waukesha West HS) in the final minute.
• Falk and Bergstrom had two shots each to lead the Auggies.
• Augsburg had five corner kicks in the game, compared to three for Carleton.

QUOTES FROM AUGSBURG HEAD COACH GREG HOLKER
• "It's not bad leaving Bell Field with a point -- especially in a game where there wasn't much of an attack generated. It was a stalemate all the way. One of the positives from today was that the group worked for each other consistently. When one player got pulled out, another covered immediately and that was very promising. We sorted out some of our set piece defending issues from the last game as well, but we are still struggling to find good service on our attacking corners."
• "We almost won it with 40 seconds left on a counter attack when Luke ripped one, but HIlliard did well and tipped it over the bar, giving us one last chance on a corner kick. Taylor Sullivan played a perfect ball and ran from deep to make that happen. Unfortunately, the service didn't beat the first player and time ran out."
• "Tommy was solid tonight. He came up big by saving that PK. It was a rare high-quality chance for Carleton on the night, and highlighted the importance of moving our feet defensively, especially in our own box.
* "Carleton pressed us in a few spots, but I thought our center backs in particular handled it well in possession. Both TJ and Bob were solid on the ball, and did a good job keeping Carleton in front of us."
• "Ebesa was really good again -- it's hard to not enjoy watching him play. Before Barinedum ran out of juice, he was really good for third game in a row. Pizza Nate made his minutes count and was effective coming underneath to hold possession for us. He's smooth on the ball, and just glides around well."
• "We have a week now to train again, and use these non-conference games to help us get ready for Saint John's the following Tuesday. We just have to be us -- and focus on that. With more time, the version of us you see will continue to improve. There's a high ceiling with this group."
