THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. --
Lionel Vang (FY, Little Canada, Minn./Roseville HS) scored a goal and added an assist in the second half for Augsburg College, but a goal with 3:39 left in regulation time gave the University of California-Santa Cruz a 3-2 nonconference men's soccer victory on Friday evening at California Lutheran University.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Trailing 1-0 at halftime, Augsburg tied the game at 2-2 with two goals in a nine-minute span in the second half.

Luke Falk (SO, Waukesha, Wis./Waukesha West HS) scored the first goal of the season for the Auggies in the 57th minute, a shot to the lower left side of the goal assisted by Vang.
• UC-Santa Cruz took the lead two minutes later, but Vang tied the game on an unassisted tally in the 66th minute, on a spin move and shot to the upper left corner.

Bobby Kohl (JR, Shorewood, Wis.) had three shots in the game for the Auggies, who were outshot by a 13-8 margin by the Banana Slugs. Vang and
Ben Henry (SR, Manitowoc, Wis./Lincoln HS) had two shots each.

Tommy Molski (JR, Woodbury, Minn./North St. Paul HS) had four saves in goal for Augsburg.
FOR THE FOES
• Rodrigo Diaz-Valdes opened the scoring with an unassisted goal in the 13th minute. Ari Throckmorton gave the Banana Slugs a 2-1 lead with a goal in the 59th minute.
• Reed Miller gave UC-Santa Cruz the lead for good with a goal from Jacob Myers Norys at the 86:21 mark.
• Christian Deguzman had three saves in goal for UC-Santa Cruz.
