Augsburg drops MIAC contest to Carleton

MINNEAPOLIS -- The Augsburg College men's basketball team struggled to find its offensive rhythm and dropped a 73-58 Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference contest to Carleton College on Monday night at Si Melby Hall.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Augsburg was held to 35.9 percent (23-of-64) shooting in the game as the Auggies struggled to find their offensive rhythm.
Collin Olmscheid (JR, Buffalo, Minn./Buffalo HS) led the Augsburg offense with 18 points on 8-of-9 shooting, while adding a team-best seven rebounds.
• Dishing out a team-high five assists, Kevin McKiernan (SO, Savage, Minn./Prior Lake HS) added 10 points and six rebounds.
• Also finishing in double figures for the Auggies was Harry Sonie (JR, Burnsville, Minn./Apple Valley HS), who scored 12 points, while adding four assists and three rebounds.
• Carleton claimed a 38-32 advantage on the boards.

• The Knights were able to use a 20-of-29 effort from the free throw line, while Augsburg was only able to convert on 9-of-11 attempts from the charity stripe.

FOR THE FOES
• Carleton finished with four players in double figures, led by Kevin Grow, who posted a 15-point, 12-rebound double-double.
• Kent Hanson came off the bench to score a team-high 18 points on 7-of-11 shooting from the field.
