BLAINE, Minn. -- Four different players scored goals, and goalie
Nick Schmit (SO, Fargo, N.D./Fargo North HS) recorded 24 saves, as the Augsburg College men's hockey team claimed a 4-2 victory over Bethel University in a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference game on Saturday evening.

Luke Dietsch (SO, St. Paul, Minn./Cretin-Derham Hall HS) opened the scoring just 44 seconds into the game, assisted by
Corbin Chapman (SR, Burnsville, Minn.) and
Nate Flynn (JR, Hastings, Minn.).

Evan Hesse (JR, Monticello, Minn./Palmer (Alaska) HS) gave the Auggies the lead with a goal at the 13:19 mark of the first period, assisted by
Lukas Gillett (SO, Rosemount, Minn.) and
Will Peterson (JR, Eagan, Minn.).
• The Auggies gained a 3-1 advantage on a goal by
Max Pernhem (JR, Stockholm, Sweden/Dragonskolan), assisted by Gillett and
Drew Anderson (JR, Rochester, Minn./Century HS), 1:47 into the second period. The Royals cut the advantage to 3-2, but Flynn capped the scoring with an empty-net goal from Peterson with 12 seconds left.
• Augsburg outshot Bethel by a 27-26 margin, with Schmit improving to 5-1-1 with his 24-save performance in goal.
FOR THE FOES
• Peter Barral and Michael Bond scored goals for the Royals.
• Jesse Garcia had eight saves in goal for Bethel, before being relieved by Joe Sheppard, who had 15 saves.
