Auggies clinch playoff berth, stay atop MIAC table

MOORHEAD, Minn. -- Ashley St. Aubin (SO, Burnsville, Minn./Burnsville HS) scored her conference-leading 14th goal of the season in the 29th minute, helping her Augsburg University women's soccer team to clinch a berth in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference playoffs with a 1-0 win at Concordia College-Moorhead on Saturday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• St. Aubin scored the lone goal of the game at the 28:50 mark, an unassisted marker. 
• Augsburg outshot Concordia by a 10-4 margin in the game, including a 6-1 advantage in the first half. Augsburg also had four corner kicks to Concordia's three.
• St. Aubin had four shots in the game, while Callie Athey (FY, Eagan, Minn./Burnsville HS) had three shots and Ciara Gregory (SO, Cottage Grove, Minn./Park HS) had two shots.
• Augsburg split its goalkeepers for the shutout win -- the Auggies' eighth of the season and sixth in their last seven games. Neither Emily Chapman (SO, Elburn, Ill./Kaneland HS), who played the first half, nor Marissa Guillou (SR, Burnsville, Minn./Apple Valley HS), who played in the second half, had to make a save in the game.

BEYOND THE BOXSCORE
• With the victory, combined with St. Olaf's 1-0 loss to St. Thomas, Augsburg moved into first place by itself in the MIAC standings with 22 league points. St. Olaf has 19 points and St. Thomas has 18 points.
• Augsburg clinched a berth in the six-team MIAC postseason playoffs for the fourth straight season, fifth time in the last six years and ninth time under Head Coach Mike Navarre.
