MINNEAPOLIS --
Eric Brenk (JR, Moorhead, Minn./Moorhead HS) scored two goals with an assist, leading Augsburg College to a 6-1 victory and a sweep of a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference men's hockey series with Bethel University on Saturday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Brenk became just the second Auggie player to have a multi-goal game this season, scoring an even-strength goal in the second period and a shorthanded goal in the third period. He now has a team-high five goals on the season, tied for the most goals
among MIAC players in overall statistics.

Max Pernhem (SR, Stockholm, Sweden/Dragonskolan) scored a second-period goal and added an assist, and
Drew Anderson (SR, Rochester, Minn./Century HS) recorded two assists, giving him a team-best seven assists, the most among MIAC players.

Luke Dietsch (JR, St. Paul, Minn./Cretin-Derham Hall HS) also had a goal and assist for the Auggies, giving him a team-best nine points (four goals, five assists), tied for the MIAC's overall lead in total points.

Chandler Madry (JR, Bakersfield, Calif./Fairbanks (Alaska) BEST HS) scored his second goal of the season, a power-play marker in the second period, and
Charlie Parker (FY, Verona, Wis./Verona HS) scored his first collegiate goal in the third period.
• Augsburg outshot Bethel by a 38-25 margin, with
Nick Schmit (JR, Fargo, N.D./Fargo North HS) recording 24 saves to claim the win in goal.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE
• Augsburg is one of just three NCAA Division III men's hockey teams that are unbeaten and untied through the first three weekends of the season, and the lone team with six wins. St. Norbert is 4-0-0, and Worcester State (Mass.) is 5-0-0. Stevenson (Md.) is also unbeaten, but has one tie (4-0-1).
• Augsburg has outscored its opponents by a 29-11 margin in its first six games, and its 4.83 goals per-game average is tied for
third-best among all NCAA Division III teams. Augsburg has scored three or more goals in each of its six games, and has scored six or more goals in three games.
• Twenty-one of the 22 skaters who have seen game action for Augsburg have either a goal or an assist so far this season, with 17 different players scoring goals.

FOR THE FOES
• Jackson Purvis scored the lone goal of the game for Bethel, a power-play marker with 1:11 left in the game, assisted by Tyler Mros and Johan Kling.
• Aaron Furlano had 32 saves in goal for the Royals.

• Augsburg returns to MIAC play with a series next weekend against Saint Mary's. The series-opener is on Friday (11/17) at 7 p.m. in Winona, Minn., with the second game next Saturday (11/18) at 7 p.m. at Ed Saugestad Rink.
