MINNEAPOLIS -- Scoring three third-period goals to rally from an early deficit, the Augsburg University women's hockey team claimed a 3-1 win over Saint Mary's University in a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference women's hockey contest on Friday evening at Ed Saugestad Rink.

• Trailing 1-0 entering the third period, Augsburg tied the game at the 3:45 mark, as
Bridget Walter (JR, Princeton, Minn./Princeton HS) scored a power-play goal, tipping home a shot from the point by
Mackenzie Molnar (SO, Inver Grove Heights, Minn./Cretin-Derham Hall HS).
Jacie Hoehn (JR, Waseca, Minn./Kasson-Mantorville HS) had the second assist on the goal.
• Mikayla Jones (SO, Stillwater, Minn./Stillwater HS) put the Auggies in front with 2:18 left in the game, scoring on a rebound in front off a shot from the blue line by
Valerie Whichello (JR, Woodbury, Minn./East Ridge HS). Nikki Nightendale (SO, Bloomington, Minn./Jefferson HS) fed Whichello for the original shot.

Megan Johnson (JR, Madison, Wis./Memorial HS), who had been denied on a breakaway shot earlier in the period, capped the scoring with an empty-net goal with 42 seconds left in the contest.
• Augsburg outshot Saint Mary's by a 36-15 margin, including a 14-5 edge in the final period. Johnson had eight shots on-goal for the Auggies, while Whichello had five shots.

McKenna Manalli (JR, Byron, Ill./Byron HS) improved to 4-0-0 on the season in goal, claiming 14 saves.
