LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- A season-best offensive performance spurred the Augsburg University women's basketball team to an 81-54 victory over Caltech in the Caltech/Occidental Fall Classic on Friday at Rush Gym.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Augsburg used a season-best 49.4-percent shooting performance (30-of-61) from the field -- including an 11-of-24 effort from three-point range -- as the Auggies put together their best offensive effort of the young season. Thirteen different Auggies saw action in the contest and 12 factored into the scoring.

Tamira McLemore (SO, Eagan, Minn./Eagan HS) paced the Augsburg offense with 13 points, while adding four assists and four rebounds.
• Also finishing in double figures for the Auggies was Aiza Wilson (SO, Minneapolis, Minn/DeLaSalle HS) and
Bridget Bednar (SR, Pierz, Minn./Pierz HS). Wilson finished with 11 points and a team-best three 3-pointers, while Bednar scored 10 points, shooting 5-of-7 from the field, while adding a team-best seven rebounds.

Camryn Speese (SO, Bloomington, Minn./DeLaSalle HS) worked hard on the boards, pulling down six rebounds, while adding six points and a pair of steals.
• Newcomer Jazmyn Solseth (FY, Inver Grove Heights, Minn./St. Croix Lutheran HS) picked up a game-high four steals and finished a perfect 3-for-3 from the field.
• For the game, Augsburg held the Beavers to just 33.3 percent (20-of-60) from the field and just 1-for-12 from three-point range.
• The Auggies showed their depth, with the Augsburg reserves outscore the Caltech reserves 43-11.
FOR THE FOES
• Caltech was led offensively by Elizabeth Eiden, who finished with 14 points, shooting 7-for-10 from the floor, while adding six rebounds.
• On the boards, Grace Peng pulled down a team-best seven rebounds and added 13 points for the Beavers.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE
• Saturday's effort marked the 10th time that Augsburg's women's basketball team has scored 80-plus points in
Ted Riverso's three seasons as Augsburg's head coach.
• Augsburg's 50 points scored in the first half is Augsburg's most in a half since scoring 54 in the second half in an 86-84 win over UW-Superior on Nov. 18, 2016. It also marked the most points scored in a first half since at least the 2000-01 campaign.
• Since 2000-01, Augsburg has scored 50 points in a half just five times (four previous, all in second halves).
