THE BASICS
FINAL SCORE: Augsburg 6, Wisconsin-Superior 1
LOCATION: Wessman Arena, Superior, Wis.
RECORDS: Augsburg 3-0-0 overall, UW-Superior 0-3-0 overall

HOW IT HAPPENED
• After the game was tied at 1-1 with two goals in a 21-second span midway through the first period, Augsburg pulled away, scoring five straight goals to claim the nonconference win on the road.
• Balanced scoring has been a key to Augsburg's men's hockey success over the past few years, and it was evident again on Friday, as six different Auggies scored goals and 12 different Auggies figured in the scoring. The only Auggies to have multiple point nights were Luke Dietsch (JR, St. Paul, Minn./Cretin-Derham Hall HS), who had a goal and two assists, and Drew Anderson (SR, Rochester, Minn./Century HS), who had a goal and an assist.
• The Auggies struck first, as Eric Brenk (JR, Moorhead, Minn./Moorhead HS) scored from Gunnar Goodmanson (FY, Buffalo, Minn./Buffalo HS) and Lukas Gillett (JR, Rosemount, Minn./Rosemount HS). The assist marked Goodmanson's first collegiate point.
• UW-Superior tied the game just 21 seconds later, but Augsburg took the lead for good at the 14:18 mark of the opening frame, as Anderson completed a breakaway off a pass from Dietsch for his first goal of the season.
• Augsburg took a 3-1 lead with 35 seconds left in the second period, as Superior native Brett Bukowski (SR, Superior, Wis./Superior HS) scored his second collegiate goal, assisted by Nate Flynn (SR, Hastings, Minn./Hastings HS) and Dietsch.
• Augsburg scored three goals in the final period to cap the scoring, as Andrew Faust (SR, Stillwater, Minn./Hill-Murray HS) scored an unassisted, shorthanded goal at the 54-second mark, Dietsch scored from Anderson and Will Peterson (SR, Eagan, Minn./Eagan HS) midway through the period, and Chandler Madry (JR, Bakersfield, Calif./Fairbanks (Alaska) BEST HS) scored his first goal as an Auggie at the 19:57 mark, assisted by Jake Larson (JR, St. Michael, Minn./St. Michael-Albertville HS) and Jason Krych (SO, Champlin, Minn./Totino-Grace HS).
• Augsburg held a 32-22 advantage in shots on-goal, including a 24-12 advantage through the first two periods. The Auggies scored on three of their eight shots on-goal in the final period.
• Nick Schmit (JR, Fargo, N.D./Fargo North HS) improved to 3-0-0 on the season with a 21-save effort in goal for Augsburg.
