Mulligan leads unbeaten Auggies past SMU

MINNEAPOLIS -- Henry Mulligan (SO, Iowa City, Iowa/Iowa City HS) scored a career-high 16 points to lead the Augsburg University men's basketball team past Saint Mary's University 93-74 in Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference action on Saturday afternoon at Si Melby Hall. With the win, Augsburg moves to 5-0 on the season.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Augsburg used an outstanding shooting performance -- connecting on 54.4 percent (37-of-68) from the floor and 50.0 percent from three-point range -- to beat a Saint Mary's team that also shot 50.0 percent (29-of-58) from the field. The Auggies led for all but 20 seconds of the action, posting a 25-10 advantage in points off turnovers and a 49-30 advantage in bench scoring.
• Five different Auggies finished in double figures. Mulligan, who was 4-for-4 from three-point range in the first half, finished 6-for-9 from the field for the game and added a rebound, an assist and a steal to his stat line. 
Nick Sabatke (SR, Eagan, Minn./Eagan HS) and Booker Coplin (SO, Shakopee, Minn./Shakopee HS) added 14 points each. Sabatke was 6-for-7 from the floor, while Coplin dished out a career-best six assists.
Collin Olmscheid (SR, Buffalo, Minn./Buffalo HS), finished with 13 points for Augsburg, and has now scored in double figures in nine games in a row dating back to last season.
• The Auggies were led on the boards by Chany Pal (SR, Fridley, Minn./Fridley HS), who pulled down a season-best nine rebounds, while adding a season-best 10 points. Pal shot 5-for-8 from the field and added a pair of assists.
• Continuing to lead Augsburg in assists, was Harry Sonie (SR, Burnsville, Minn./Apple Valley HS) who posted six assists to go along with six rebounds. Sonie is currently second in the MIAC in assists per-game, averaging 5.8 apg.
• The Auggies recorded an impressive 30 assists on 37 made baskets.

FOR THE FOES
• Saint Mary's was led by the duo of David Lindstrand and Jakob Bailey, who finished with 15 and 11 points respectively.  Bailey added a game-high four steals.
• The Cardinals shot a season-best 50.0 percent (29-of-58) from the field.
