Speese, McLemore post double-doubles in win over SMU

MINNEAPOLIS -- Camryn Speese (SO, Bloomington, Minn./DeLaSalle HS) and Tamira McLemore (SO, Eagan, Minn./Eagan HS) both posted double-doubles in a 69-59 Augsburg University women's basketball victory over Saint Mary's University in Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference action on Saturday afternoon at Si Melby Hall.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Augsburg put together one of its best performances of the young season. The Auggies were able to out-shoot and out-rebound the Cardinals and posted an impressive 48-26 advantage in points in the paint.
• Augsburg finished the game 30-of-66 from the field (45.5 percent), while holding the Cardinals to a season-low 31.1 percent ( 19-of-61). The Auggies pulled down a season-best 44 rebounds, claiming a 44-40 advantage on the glass.
• Speese led the Auggies with a 16-point, 10-rebound double-double. Both her point and rebound totals are season-bests, while the double-double is her first of the season and third of her career. 
• McLemore posted a 13-point, 10-rebound double-double, marking her first career double-double as an Auggie. McLemore added a season-best five assists, while picking up three steals and a pair of blocks.
• Also scoring in double figures for the Auggies was K'Aezha Wubben (SO, Minneapolis, Minn./Hopkins HS), who posted a season-best 16 points, while adding a season-best six assists. Wubben finished 7-of-11 from the field and added a steal.
• Posting a career-high assist performance for the Auggies was Arianna Jones (SO, Brooklyn Park, Minn./Osseo HS), who finished with nine assists. Jones is currently ranked second in the MIAC in assists per-game (4.3).

 FOR THE FOES
• Saint Mary's was led by Brandi Blattner, who recorded an impressive 27-point, 15-rebound double-double. Blattner finished 9-for-15 from the floor and added a pair of assists.
• Rachel Kedl added 10 rebounds and five points for the Cardinals.

UP NEXT
• Augsburg returns to action on Wednesday (12/6) at 7 p.m. when the Auggies travel to St. Peter, Minn. to take on Gustavus Adolphus College.
