MINNEAPOLIS -- The Augsburg University women's basketball team dropped a 78-56 contest to No. 12 ranked Gustavus Adolphus College in Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference action on Wednesday night at Gus Young Court.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Augsburg put together a solid first quarter of play, outscoring Gustavus 16-13 in the frame. The Auggies scored the opening two baskets of the second quarter, to go up seven, but the Gusties countered with a 12-5 run to tie things up at 25 points apiece. Gustavus closed the half on a 14-3 run and the half-time lead proved too much for the Auggies to overcome.

Camryn Speese (SO, Bloomington, Minn./DeLaSalle HS) paced the Auggies, posting team-highs in both points and rebounds. Speese finished with 12 points and eight rebounds. She has scored in double figures in three of the teams five games this season.
• Also finishing in double figures for Augsburg was
Aiza Wilson (SO, Minneapolis, Minn./DeLaSalle HS), who finished with 11 points on 4-of-7 shooting from the field.
• For the game, Augsburg was held to a season-low 34.6 percent (18-of-52), while Gustavus connected on 54.1 percent (33-of-61) of its shot attempts. The Gusties posted a narrow 33-32 advantage on the boards.
• The Auggies finished 14-of-18 from the free throw line, while Gustavus was only able to get to the free throw line seven times.
 FOR THE FOES
• Gustavus finished with four players in double figures, led by a 20-point, seven-assist effort from Mikayla Miller.
• Miranda Rice added 18 points for the Gusties, while Kendall Thompson pulled down a team-best six rebounds.
