MINNEAPOLIS -- The Augsburg University women's basketball team used a scrappy defensive performance, but it wasn't enough to overcome a cold shooting afternoon as the Auggies fell 51-43 to Concordia College-Moorhead in Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference action on Saturday afternoon at Si Melby Hall.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• The Augsburg defense held Concordia to just 51 points while forcing 23 Cobber turnovers, but the Auggies struggled to score in the first and fourth quarters and were held to a season-low 43 points.

Arianna Jones (SO, Brooklyn Park, Minn./Osseo HS) and
Abby Jordan (SO, Rogers, Minn./Rogers HS) led the Augsburg offense with eight points apiece. Jones added three assists and three steals, while Jordan added a pair of assists and a pair of blocks.
• On the boards, Augsburg was led by
Carlee Kobow (JR, Becker, Minn./Becker HS), who pulled down a season-best six rebounds to go along with five points.
• For the game, Augsburg shot 23.4 percent (15-of-64), while Concordia connected on 38.3 percent (18-of-47) of its shot attempts. The Cobbers posted a 43-35 advantage on the boards.
• The Auggie reserves were able to outscore the Concordia reserves 19-14.
FOR THE FOES
• Concordia finished with a pair players in double figures, led by 14 points from Jamie Mentzer, who finished 5-for-10 from the field.
• Grace Wolhowe added 11 points and a game-high eight assists for the Cobbers.
