MINNEAPOLISÂ -- The Augsburg University women's hockey team saw its seven-game unbeaten streak snapped with a 4-0 loss to the University of St. Thomas in Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference women's hockey play on Saturday at Ed Saugestad Rink.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• In a battle of MIAC leaders, St. Thomas moved into a first-place tie with Augsburg, claiming two first-period goals and single goals in the second and third periods.
• Augsburg outshot St. Thomas by a 24-22 margin, but could not get any shots past Tommie goalie Mackenzie Torpy, who stopped all 24 shots she faced to claim the shutout.

McKenna Manalli (JR, Byron, Ill./Byron HS) started in goal and collected eight saves in the first 28:41 for the Auggies, before being relieved by
Rebecca Sonnek (SR, Edina, Minn./Edina HS), who had 10 saves in her first game action since suffering an injury in the first game of the season.

• Isabel Bianci scored from Maddy Fiedler and Erika Bjorkman at the 7:57 mark of the first period, and Estee Frantz followed with a goal from Fiedler and Kaylee Druck at the 15:12 mark.
• Kate Winiecki scored an unassisted goal at the 8:41 mark of the second period, and Allison Parnell capped the scoring with a goal from Druk and Demi Cooper at the 6:11 mark of the third period.
