Megan Robertson (JR, Boissevain, Manitoba) and
Darby Lindgren (SR, Lakeville, Minn./Shattuck-St. Mary's HS) scored goals for Augsburg College, but the Auggies could not overcome a 4-0 deficit in a 4-2 loss to the University of St. Thomas in Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference women's hockey action on Saturday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• The Auggies surrendered the first four goals of the game, including two power-play goals in the second period.
• Robertson scored a power-play goal from
Ashley Kloncz (SR, Lakeville, Minn./Lakeville North HS) at the 16:32 mark of the second period, and Lindgren scored her eighth goal of the season, a shorthanded goal from
Callen Naasz (SR, Lakeville, Minn./Lakeville South HS) at the 18:17 mark of the third period.
• St. Thomas outshot Augsburg by a 31-17 margin in the game, including a 26-10 advantage through the first two periods.

Valerie Whichello (SO, Woodbury, Minn./East Ridge HS) had five shots on-goal for the Auggies, while Naasz had three shots.

Rebecca Sonnek (JR, Edina, Minn.) had 27 saves in goal for the Auggies.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE
• Augsburg dropped into the second spot in the MIAC standings with 24 points, a point behind Gustavus' 25 (11-2-3 MIAC, 15-5-3 overall). The Gusties blanked Bethel 3-0 on Saturday.
• Entering the final weekend of the regular season, Augsburg, Gustavus and Concordia (22 points, 10-4-2 MIAC, 13-7-3 overall) all have a shot at winning the conference regular-season title. Augsburg faces Saint Benedict (5 points) next weekend, while Gustavus faces Hamline (20 points) and Concordia hosts Bethel (12 points).
• All five conference postseason playoffs are now clinched, as the last berth was claimed on Saturday by St. Thomas (19 points) with the win over Augsburg.
FOR THE FOES
• Kathryn Larson scored two goals for St. Thomas, while Leah Schwartzman had a goal and assist. Emily Michaelson also scored for the Tommies, and Becca Zarembinski had two assists.
• Mackenzie Torpy had 15 saves in goal for the Tommies.
UP NEXT
• Augsburg hosts Saint Benedict next Friday (2/17) at 7 p.m. at Ed Saugestad Rink, and close the regular season against the Blazers next Saturday (2/18) at 3 p.m. at the Municipal Athletic Center in St. Cloud, Minn.
• St. Thomas faces Wisconsin-Stevens Point on Wednesday (2/15) at 7 p.m. in a nonconference game, and close the regular season with a series next weekend against St. Olaf.
