MINNEAPOLIS --
Camryn Speese (FY, Bloomington, Minn./DeLaSalle HS) led the Augsburg College women's basketball team to a 64-58 victory over Macalester College in Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference action on Wednesday evening at Leonard Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• The Auggies were able to hold off a late charge by Macalester as they claimed a must-win victory over the Scots. With one regular season remaining, Augsburg is fighting for the sixth and final spot in the MIAC postseason playoffs. The Auggies made the MIAC playoffs in 2014-15 and fell just short a season ago.
• Despite a tough shooting night, Augsburg was able to claim a 41-35 advantage on the boards and a 23-13 advantage in second-chance points. The Auggies were also able to convert on 20-of-27 from the free throw line, while Macalester was only able to hit 12-of-15.
• Augsburg also won the turnover battle, forcing 21 while only committing nine. The Auggies posted a 21-8 advantage in points off-turnovers.
• Speese led the Auggies with her third double-double of her career. She scored 15 points and added career-highs in rebounds (13) and assists (4).

Tamira McLemore (FY, Eagan, Minn.) paced the Auggie offense, with a 17 point night. McLemore shot a perfect 5-for-5 from the free throw line and added four steals and a pair of assists.
• On the boards, Augsburg was led by Speese and
Bridget Bednar (Pierz, Minn.), who pulled down a season-best 12 rebounds, while adding five points and four steals.
• Also finishing in double figures for Augsburg was
Arianna Jones (FY, Brooklyn Park, Minn./Osseo HS), who tied a career-high with 12 points, while adding three rebounds.
• For the game, Augsburg was held to 29.0 percent (18-of-62) from the field, while Macalester converted on 42.2 percent (19-of-45) of its shot attempts.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE
• With one regular season game remaining, Augsburg is one win shy of tying the school record for wins (15), set by the 2014-15 squad that qualified for the MIAC Playoffs under head coach Bill McKee.
FOR THE FOES
• Macalester was led by the duo of Lauren Clamage and Regan Fruh, who scored 17 and 15 points respectively.
• On the boards, the Scots were led by Park Masterson, who pulled down nine rebounds while adding six points and a blocked shot.

• Augsburg closes out its regular season on Saturday (2/18) at 1 p.m., when the Auggies travel to Northfield, Minn. to take on St. Olaf College in a women's-men's doubleheader.
• The Scots also close out their MIAC season on Saturday when they travel across town to take on Hamline University.
