MINNEAPOLISÂ -- Behind two goals apiece from
Ashley Kloncz (SR, Lakeville, Minn./Lakeville North HS) and
Callen Naasz (SR, Lakeville, Minn./Lakeville South HS), Augsburg College took sole possession of the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference women's hockey lead with a 7-2 triumph over Hamline University on Friday evening at Ed Saugestad Rink.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Kloncz scored two goals and added an assist for a three-point night, her first multi-point game of the season. Naasz scored two unassisted goals, including a shorthanded goal in the third period, claiming her third multi-point game in her last six contests.

Danielle Heitkamp (SR, Bismarck, N.D./Grand Rapids (Minn.) HS) collected her second multi-point game of the campaign, with a career-high three-assist performance.Â

Megan Johnson (SO, Madison, Wis./Memorial HS),
Darby Lindgren (SR, Lakeville, Minn./Shattuck-St. Mary's HS) and
Bridget Walter (SO, Princeton, Minn.) also scored goals for the Auggies, with Johnson adding an assist for a two-point night.
Emily Ach (FY, Brooklyn Park, Minn./Park Center HS),
Bridget Wagner (FY, Niles, Ill./Maine South HS),
Nikki Nightengale (FY, Bloomington, Minn./Jefferson HS) and
Taral Clayton (JR, Anchorage, Alaska/Dimond HS) added assists for the Auggies.
• Augsburg built a 5-0 lead in the first 24:37 of play, before allowing two Hamline power-play goals. The Auggies capped the win with two goals in the third period.
• Naasz opened the scoring with her first unassisted goal of the game at the 6:49 mark of the first period, with Johnson scoring at the 12:00 mark and Kloncz scoring a power-play goal at the 15:00 mark.
• Kloncz and Lindgren scored goals 1:35 apart in the opening minutes of the second period. Naasz scored a shorthanded, unassisted goal at the 13:39 mark of the third period, and Walter capped the scoring with a goal at the 18:15 mark.
• Augsburg was outshot by a 25-23 mark by the Pipers.Â
Rebecca Sonnek (JR, Edina, Minn.) had 23 saves in goal for the Auggies, improving to 11-5-0 on the season.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE
• Augsburg, ranked No. 10 in the latest
USCHO Division III national rankings, moved into sole possession of first place in the MIAC with 20 conference points.
• With five games remaining in the regular season, Augsburg's 14 wins have already surpassed last year's 13-10-3 record, and is now the third-most wins in a full varsity-opponent season in program history, behind the 21-7-1 record in 1999-2000 and 15-10-2 record in 2003-04. Augsburg's 10 MIAC wins are tied for second-most in a single season in program history, behind the 12-1-1 league mark in 1999-2000.
• Lindgren extended her point streak to seven straight games, including four games with a goal. She has five goals and three assists for eight points in the seven-game streak.
• Sonnek's 11 wins are now tied for the second-most goalie wins in a single season in school history, tied with
Erika Allen's 11-9-3 record in 2015-16. Meg Schmidt set the single-season goalie win record with a 17-6-1 mark in 1999-2000.
• The seven goals are the most goals scored by Augsburg against an MIAC opponent since a 12-1 win at Hamline on Jan. 20, 2003.
FOR THE FOES
• Darby Dodds scored a power-play goal at the 11:31 mark of the second period, assisted by Emily Gunderson.
• Jenna Kosley scored a power-play goal at the 18:19 mark of the second period, assisted by Brede Postier and Gunderson.
• Starter Jaime Hathaway had five saves in goal before being relieved by Annie Juergens, who had 11 saves in 35 minutes.
