NORTHFIELD, Minn. -- After a slow start to the game, the Augsburg College women's basketball team dominated the second half, securing a 58-53 come-from behind victory over Carleton College in Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference action on Saturday afternoon at West Gym.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• After trailing 32-19 at the half, Augsburg started the third quarter with a 16-4 run. In the third quarter, the Auggies outscored the Knights 12-0 in points in the paint, 11-0 in second-chance points and 10-2 in points off turnovers. Augsburg used its third-quarter momentum and grabbed its first lead of the game, a 43-42 advantage, with 6:51 to play in the fourth. The Auggies were able to extend their lead to as many as seven, picking up the important MIAC victory.
• Augsburg is currently in seventh place in the MIAC standings with four league games remaining. The top six teams make the conference postseason tournament.
• The Auggie defense played a key role in the victory over the Knights. Augsburg forced 23 Carleton turnovers, picking up 18 steals in the process. Subsequently, the Auggies claimed a 20-6 advantage in points off turnovers in the game.
• The Augsburg offense was led by K'Aezha Wubben (FY, Minneapolis, Minn./Hopkins HS) and
Tamira McLemore (FY, Eagan, Minn.), who posted 18 and 15 points respectively. Wubben finished the afternoon 7-of-11 from the floor, while adding five rebounds and four steals. In addition to her 15 points, McLemore added three steals, an assist and a blocked shot.
• On the boards, Augsburg was led by
Camryn Speese (FY, Bloomington, Minn./DeLaSalle HS) and
Hannah Steinhaus (JR, Waterville, Minn./Waterville-Elysian-Morristown HS), who finished with eight and seven rebounds respectively. Speese added nine points, while Steinhaus added four points and tied a season-best with four steals.
• For the game, Augsburg shot 35.1 percent (20-of-57) from the field, while Carleton was held to 34.8 percent (16-of-46) shooting. Both teams finished with an identical 37 rebounds.
• Augsburg claimed a 20-6 advantage in points off turnovers and a 17-5 advantage in second chance points.
FOR THE FOES
• Carleton was led by Samantha Cooke and Anne Hamilton, who finished with 16 points apiece.
• Sarah Waldfogel led the Knights on the boards, pulling down a game-high nine rebounds, while adding a pair of assists and steals.
