Auggies cap Kentucky trip with 19-3 victory

CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky. -- Outshooting the hosts by a 35-12 margin, the Augsburg College women's lacrosse team completed its spring break trip to Kentucky with a 19-3 win over Thomas More College on Tuesday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Tied 1-1 seven minutes into the game, Augsburg scored 15 straight goals to take a 16-1 lead with 12:45 left in the second half. 
• Helena Nguyen (JR, Maple Grove, Minn.) led the Auggies with five goals and an assist for a six-point night, claiming three free-position goals. Delaney Everett (JR, Brooklyn Center, Minn./Champlin Park HS) and Mikayla Knudson (FY, Zimmerman, Minn./Elk River HS) scored three goals each. Everett added five draw controls.
• Izzy Snow (SO, Golden Valley, Minn./Robbinsdale Armstrong HS) scored two goals with two assists. Rachel Frantz (SR, Mounds View, Minn./Irondale HS) scored a goal with two assists, to go along with a ground ball and draw control, and Dezera Sieracki (SR, Wyoming, Minn./Centennial HS) scored a goal with an assist, two ground balls and two draw controls.
• Ashley Pettipiece (JR, Mounds View, Minn./Irondale HS) and Christina Nelson (SO, Bloomington, Minn./Kennedy HS) also scored goals, with Nelson adding two draw controls.
• Goalie Marissa Guillou (JR, Burnsville, Minn./Apple Valley HS) had three saves, while also adding an assist.
• Augsburg outshot Thomas More by a 21-7 margin in the first half and by a 14-5 margin in the second half. Augsburg had 14 draw controls to Thomas More's 10.

FOR THE FOES
• Jeni Hall scored two goals, with Josie Perrino adding the other Thomas More goal. Jalee Connor had an assist.
• Tori Liles had five draw controls and a ground ball, and Perrino had two ground balls, two draw controls and a caused turnover.
• Gillian Casey had 19 saves in goal.

• Augsburg travels to Illinois for a pair of Midwest Women's Lacrosse Conference games this weekend, playing at Concordia-Chicago on Saturday (3/18) at 4 p.m. and at Illinois Tech on Sunday (3/19) at 1 p.m.
